The shrill sound of the alarm pulled me from the depths of sleep. My eyes fluttered open, and without thinking, I reached out to silence the noise. The cool surface of my phone met my fingers as I fumbled to turn off the alarm. For a moment, I lay there, letting the remnants of sleep fade away before I forced myself out of bed and headed straight to the bathroom. The cold water on my face snapped me fully awake, and within minutes, I was dressed and ready to go. My heart was already racing, anticipation building up in my chest as I stepped out of my room and made my way to the lobby.
